It’s not something clients ask about, and it’s not something you’d notice unless you went looking for it. But behind every arrangement that leaves our studio, there’s a quiet list of things we do that most people never think to ask about — and that we’ve never really talked about publicly, until now.
1. Love, Literally Shaped by Hand
This sounds like something you’d write on a card, not a process — but it’s genuinely the starting point of everything we make. Every stem is placed by a florist’s hand, not a machine or a template, and that interaction between hand and bloom shapes each flower in a way that can’t be replicated or rushed.
It’s why no two Bliss arrangements are ever quite identical, even within the same collection, and why the same design brief can come out looking subtly different depending on who’s arranging it that day. We consider that a feature, not an inconsistency — it’s the human fingerprint on something that’s otherwise entirely natural.
2. Water That’s Been Cared For, Too
The water a flower sits in matters just as much as the flower itself, and it’s the first thing most people overlook entirely. We treat the water our blooms are conditioned in to reduce bacteria and keep stems drinking properly from the very first hour they arrive in our studio.
It’s one of the simplest, least glamorous things we do — no dramatic before-and-after, no visible difference in the arrangement itself — and yet it’s one of the biggest reasons our flowers last as long as they do. Clean water means a clean, uninterrupted path for a stem to keep feeding itself, long after it’s left the growing field.
3. A Daily Dose of Flower Vitamins
Just like we need nutrients to keep going through a long day, so do flowers. Every stem thatcomes through our studio is fed a vitamin solution during conditioning, formulated to support hydration and slow the natural wilting process from the inside out.
It’s a quiet kind of insurance policy. You won’t see it in the finished arrangement, but you’ll feel its effects a few days later — when a bouquet that should be fading is instead still holding its colour, its posture, and its fullness.
4. One Last Spray, Seconds Before It Reaches Your Hands
There’s a moment between the delivery van and your doorstep that most people never think about — the transition from a climate-controlled vehicle into the heat, wind, or simple travel time between our hands and yours. We do.
Every arrangement gets a longevity spray applied right before hand-off, giving it one last layer of protection against the exact stretch of time and temperature it’s about to face on its way to you. It’s a small, deliberate final step — the kind of thing that only matters because we’ve decided it does.
5. Cryotherapy, For the Roses That Deserve It
This is the one that surprises people most, and honestly, we understand why. Some of our rose arrangements undergo a genuine cryotherapy treatment — three minutes of localised exposure to cryogenically cooled air, reaching temperatures as low as -160°C.
It sounds extreme for something as delicate as a rose, but the science behind it is fairly simple: that brief, intense cold exposure increases a rose’s ability to self-generate at a cellular level, helping it recover from the stress of cutting and transport, and hold its bloom for noticeably longer than it would otherwise. It’s a technique more commonly associated with recovery and performance than with flowers — which is exactly why we think it belongs in a category of its own.
Why Any of This Matters at All
None of these steps are visible in a photo, and until now, most clients never had a reason to ask about them. But they’re the actual difference between a bouquet that impresses for one afternoon and one that’s still beautiful on day five, day seven, day ten.
At Bliss, we’ve always believed luxury isn’t only about how something looks in the first hour after it arrives. It’s about how much unseen care went into making sure it still looks that way long after everyone else has stopped paying attention.
